Description: It is an original antique map with elaborate decorative border, original handcoloring and a centerfold as issued. The map is well documented in the cartouche which states that it is by M. Brion [Louis Brion de la Tour], the Geographer Engineer of the King [France] published in Paris by Desnos and dated 1766 on the map. The map was published slightly later in the Atlas General, Civil, Ecclesiastique et Militaire, 3rd ed., (Paris: Desnos, 1772), a copy of the original title page with the date is included for authenticity. It is not mounted nor matted, being sold as a single sheet as seen in the main pic.
Size: The map image area between the neat lines measures approximately 9x10 inches (23x26cm) on a 11x15" (29x38cm) page
Condition: Very Good to Excellent condition, blank on reverse, with original handcoloring and a centerfold as issued. There is a slight darkening along the fold and a tight margin at the top, otherwise it is clean with a strong impression, bright color printed on a strong cotton page with the copper plate marks embossed in the margins.
