“Humor and a good deal of relaxed professionalism in Mr. Stewart’s portrayal…Mr. Martin contributes a loose, adept performance…filmed in vivid colors against vast, arid, craggy Southwestern backgrounds.”
 – A.H. Weiler, The New York Times

“Martin plays it unusually straight…a rare instance during this era of him playing a realistic, multi-dimensional character. Stewart looks like he’s having the time of his life and Welch…acquits herself very well indeed among these seasoned pros.”
– Lee Pfeiffer, cinemaretro.com

James Stewart and Dean Martin co-star as a pair of brothers, on the run from a posse led by a sheriff (George Kennedy) particularly determined to rescue their beauteous hostage (Raquel Welch).  Adding to the peril as they cross the border from Texas to Mexico is a gang of bandoleros intent on killing every gringo they come across.  Directed by Andrew V. McLaglen and highlighted by a superb Jerry Goldsmith score.
