Photon is a Soviet rangefinder camera with a single-stage photo process.

Produced by the Krasnogorsk Mechanical Plant (KMZ) from 1969 to 1972 and from 1974 to 1976.

Photon cameras were produced in 1839 units[1].

The release was discontinued due to insufficient production of photosensitive photographic materials.

                                                                   

Specifications
The type of photographic material used is a special photosensitive material of the single-stage “Moment” process, designed to produce 8 black-and-white or 6 color frames.[2]
The photographic material “Moment” is compatible with Polaroid cassettes of types 42, 47, 48.
Frame size: 73×96 mm.
The case with other opening lids is designed for charging photographic material.
Central photographic shutter, shutter speeds 1/125 sec, 1/30 sec and “B”.
The standard lens is Industar-77 5.6/120.
The viewfinder is combined with a rangefinder, eyepiece magnification is 0.52×. There is an illuminated parallax monument frame (with a range of 2 meters) in the viewfinder's field of view.
Rangefinder base 65 mm.

The cost of the camera was 108 rubles.
At KMZ, prototypes of Photon cameras of a different design were created, but they are not mass-produced.
