Circa 1880’s-1890’s Victorian cast iron fireplace screen holder with artistic designs. This seems to be a rare item as we’ve never seen another one in the several decades we have been buying and selling antiques and we can find nothing identical online. We found one online that had a similar set up with the legs and the v-shaped holder and the bar between the two pairs of legs but the design was very different. This piece would be ideal for a collector of unusual antique cast iron fireplace equipment.

The piece measures 12 1/4 inches tall by 13 1/2 inches wide and is 6 3/4 inches from front to back of the feet. It weighs 2 pounds 3 ounces.

The condition is excellent with the vast majority of the all original finish present & only minor wear as expected for a piece that was used and is over one hundred years old. There is a tiny 5/16" by 1/8" in period chip to the iron at the point just above the cross piece bar adjacent to the upright pieces. We have provided a photo of the spot where that chip is.

Please examine the photos closely and purchase based on your own judgement as to condition and value.
