Eingefasst von 3 Bildleisten mit seitlich je 5 Trachtenpaaren und oben 9 kleinen Stadtansichten von Amsterdam, Prag, Konstantinopel, Venedig, Rom, Paris, London, Toledo und Lissabon. Im Kartenbild noch mit der fiktiven Insel Friesland. Mit niederländischem Text verso. Die Karte stammt aus einer der vier holländischen Ausgaben.
Willem Blaeu war ein bedeutender niederländischer Kartograph und Verleger.
Blatt: 59,5 x 50,5 cm; Platte: 56 x 42 cm.
ZUSTAND
In sehr gutem Erhaltungszustand. Kräftiger Druck und detailreiches schönes Altkolorit. Die Karte ist gleichmäßig gebräunt und hat im Außenrand einen schmalen Lichtrand. Wenige kleine Einrisse im Rand. In der Karte mit zwei dünnen Papierstellen, die nur im Gegenlicht sichtbar sind. Festes Büttenpapier. Üblicher Mittelfalz. Sauberes Kartenbild.

DESCRIPTION
Original old coloured continent map of Europe. The map is decorated with a painted allegorical scrollwork cartouche. Framed by 3 picture borders with 5 pairs of traditional costumes on each side and 9 small city views of Amsterdam, Prague, Constantinople, Venice, Rome, Paris, London, Toledo and Lisbon at the top. In the map image still with the fictitious island of Friesland. With Dutch text on the verso. The map is from one of the four Dutch editions.
MEASUREMENTS
Leaf: 59.5 x 50.5 cm; plate: 56 x 42 cm.
CONDITION
In very good condition. Strong impression and detailed, beautiful old colouring. The map is evenly browned and has a narrow lightstain in the outer margin. A few small tears in the margin. In the map with two thin paper spots, which are only visible when backlit. Firm laid paper. Usual centrefold. Clean map.
