The Undertones second album, Hypnotised, was released in April 1980. Produced by Roger Bechirian, it reached #6 in the UK, the band's highest charting LP.
Hypnotised was recorded at Wisseloord Studios in the Netherlands, December 1979, and Eden Studios, London in January 1980. Only barely less perfect than the group's debut album, it contains 14 punky pop classics, with a slightly tougher and musically more sophisticated edge than the unfailingly sweet-natured debut.
Packed with more flawless slices of adolescent frustration, the album includes the top ten single 'My Perfect Cousin' from March 1980 and 'Wednesday Week', which reached UK #11 three weeks later.
