Antique Yemenite Bridal Basket Gilded Silver 800 Head Ornaments made into pin Brooch.
This basket formation where used as part of the head pieces and are considered a collectors finding.
They date to the late 19th to early 20th century.
Traditionally they would be attached to a full ornamented head piece for brides in Yemen.
As these specific parts have an individual quality they where collected by jewelers and collectors and transformed to personal jewelry ,in this case a hanging basket on pin making a lovely brooch.
The Jewelry has 5 round silver granulation - 2 on pin and 3 on basket flowers. The ones on the flowers might have exchanged little stones that were there originally to make a uniform more modernist look with the pin that is likely to have been added ( to make a hanging brooch) in the 1950s.
The basket pieces and hanging 2 gilded balls are made in refined Filigree and granulation work. Such Jewelry is typically done in med Silver 800-850 .
In smaller quantities and narrower target market they where Gilded as in this case.
The brooch carries a vibrant presence and charm and simply can not be left unnoticed once put on.
The look is unique for being both of flamboyant quality and yet keeping a friendly appearance with much details and fine jewelry making techniques.
Pin is in Excellent condition and can be safely put on.
