SUMMARY:
A near mint  solid silver, key-wind Swiss cylinder pocket watch with a very rare full color enamel dial.  This is a beautifully made pocket watch, dating from  1ca. 885. 


The watch is sold needing a clean and overhaul with damaged pivot to balance staff, so sold as a project, no doubt needing work.

 

THE DIAL: 85% mint, the colored enamel dial with Roman numerals and in bright condition with no hairlines, but a number of filled chips. The dial with fine blue steel spade hands. Diameter is 53 mm. The crystal is also in excellent condition

THE MOVEMENT: 100% mint, a gilded three quarterplate and a Bosely regulator, and blue steel screws. An uncut three arm balance, with hairspring and cylinder escapement. 

THE CASE: 95% mint, the solid silver case measures an impressive 36 mm. The front and rear covers are excellent, both are hinged and close fine.  The watch, with non-original metal bow. The case with Swiss hall-marks and silver marks and early owners name engraved to inside of rear cover.
