Parker introduced the RB-1 in the late 1970’s, initially as a rollerball and in 1984 as a fountain pen, . The designated name was then changed from FP-1 to the Vector ( Latin for ‘carrier’) in 1984. In late 1984 the Vector was offered in 4 hard colours and refined slightly with a shortened barrel, longer grip and different clip design. In 1985 a ‘flighter’ version was introduced to Vector line up as well as ballpoint pens and pencils. New finishes began to appear in all 4 models, such as the special, mode, sport, black n white, Americana etc. Since the outset of its production the vector has appeared in many different guesses and special editions. They have been manufactured in the USA, England, France, India and China over the decades.
