Very handsome pastel still life study of a plate with Oriental figure with umbrella and small vase by Bill Lundy, Fall ‘23. Wonderfully applied pastel using a vertical line rendering technique with great competence.   On pastel or charcoal paper with some residue on back from being affixed to an album page at one time and one pin hole at top edge.  It is from a loose portfolio of student works by an artist named Bill Lundy done in the 1920’s. Nicely handled subject with a distinct Deco style. Drawing paper measures 9 inches high by 10 1/2 inches wide. The signature on this piece was trimmed off at some point but the B for his first name is at the right edge near the bottom.   It was one of the stronger pieces in the portfolio.  Would look exceptional matted and framed.
