LYMAN CENTENNIAL JOURNAL 1878-1978

C. KENNETH RAMAGE, EDITOR

LYMAN PUBLICATIONS: MIDDLEFIELD, CT
1978

First Edition.
“It was exactly 100 years ago that William Lyman founded the Lyman Gun Sight Company based on a new product the tang-mounted peep sight, and a new motto — "Service-to the shooter." Much has changed in the past century -- Lyman now offers hundreds of shooting sports products — but the motto is as fresh today as when first spoken.

Lyman's Centennial Journal traces the history of our company from its birth in a one-room machine shop to its status today as a multi-million dollar firm. It's all here in words and pictures, painstakingly researched and richly documented. Wherever possible we have tried to illustrate and describe Lyman's major products through the years. It should bring back some pleasant memories for veteran shooters.

Yet the Centennial Journal is more than a history; it is also a manual meant to accompany Lyman's centennial offerings, the specially prepared Deluxe Rifle Set and the Centennial Rifle Set. As such, the book includes reloading data for these very special Ruger No. 1 rifles chambered for the 45-70 Government cartridge. It also features complete trajectory and wind drift tables for each bullet listed in the data section.”
