Gents pocketknife with twin blades and corkscrew made in Solingen, Germany by the famous
Gebr. Hoppe (Hoppe brothers) company located once in Solingen
Eichenstr.122. Unfortunately, the company closed in 1983.
Gebr.
Hoppe was renowned for their top quality pocketknives and scissors
which they exported to many countries. Their sole logo was the "Kg
weight" symbol which you can notice stamped on most implements.
The
Hoppe was a big family and cutlery dynasty in Solingen like for ex the
Weyersberg, Claubergs, Erns and several more... Some made scissors, other
straight razors like for ex. Guiliermo Hoppe. And until today some of
their descendants are engaged in scissors and smaller cutlery
production.
Bearing these eye catching real mother of pearl
scales that are unique in shimmer and glaze. Due to natural material
every scale is one of a kind. Photo is for reference.

knife has no issues, rust or nicks like new, from Nos. Of course blades
snap closed like they should (joints just oiled). The ones you see in the net from that era
are mostly scratched, used and have pitting, nicks etc
