Gibson Les Paul Standard '82 Pearl White Metallic

Les Paul was a great jazz guitarist who had a great influence on the electric guitar and its playing methods in the history of popular music. His signature model, the Les Paul Model, was released by Gibson in 1952. Although there have been many ups and downs since then, the Les Paul model continues to be loved by guitarists around the world as the standard in the electric guitar world, with a variety of lineups including vintage reissue models, and inspired models produced by other companies.

This time we have a 1982 Les Paul Standard, made in the Nashville factory. This is one of those models that comes in custom colors here and there, but the pearl white color is probably quite rare. Like the regular model, it is equipped with the latest specs of the time, and is Gibson's flagship model that everyone has admired.

【body】
Overall weight is approximately 4.6kg. The body material is a traditional maple top/mahogany back. The very rare custom color, pearl white color, is very beautiful. Although there is discoloration of the top coat due to age, weather check, small dents, dullness of metal parts, etc., considering the model year, it can be said to be in very good condition. The pickguard and strap pin have been replaced with new ones.

【neck】
Some people may be happy about the standard head width, so-called small head, and the neck material, which is 3-piece maple like the regular model, but is non-volute. The back of the neck is weather-checked like the body, and the top coat around the top of the head is slightly cloudy. The tuner is made by Schaller and has the "Gibson" logo. There is almost no variation in the winding condition and it functions well. The fret size is originally low, and although there is some wear around the low frets, there are no extreme dents that would interfere with play. Nut width 43.7mm. It features a relatively neat neck shape.

[Electrical system]
The controls are orthodox Les Paul style [3-way pickup selector/2 volumes/2 tones]. The pickup is a Gibson humbucker with the same specifications as the regular model. From the warm and refreshing tone of the clean sound, to the powerful sound with a good sense of clarity even in crunch to overdrive settings, it is attractive.
