The classic New Mutants (Sunspot, Wolfsbane, Mirage, Karma, Magik, and Cypher) get together with a few new friends (Chamber, Mondo) to seek out their old friend and teammate Sam, who is deep in Shi'Ar space with his wife and child. Their new mission is to give him a visit, and that takes them into space alongside the Starjammers.
