Vintage 1960s chess set crafted in sterling silver and 18ct Yellow Gold over.

Each piece contains full British Hallmarks; makers mark, lion passant for sterling silver, London mark and N for 1963.
The gold coloured pieces also contain the 18ct (18k) mark for the very thin layer of gold over the sterling silver.

The sterling silver pieces are beautifully shiny with very mild signs of use and some aged patina.
The gold pieces are tarnished and some of the plating has rubbed away.

The chess board is beautifully varnished walnut and maple or satinwood. Showing very minimal signs of age. There is some light bubbling in a small area.

It is a complete 32 piece set encased in a deep burgundy red velvet/velour lined black hard case. The case is in excellent vintage condition, perfectly intact.

This beautiful set is the ideal travelling companion and would make a wonderful gift for someone.

Overall the condition is excellent with signs of wear to the gold gilt on the gold pieces. It is nearly 60 years. The photos are an accurate portrayal, taken in natural daylight.
