The blackberry grows in the forests, bushes, meadows, along the roads, on the foothills and mountain slopes of the whole country.

The leaves (Folia Rubi fruticosi) and the roots (Radiax Rubi fruticosi) are used medicinally. The leaves are collected in summer and the roots from September to November.

Blackberries are notable for their high nutritional content of dietary fiber, vitamin C, vitamin K and the essential mineral manganese. The root contains saponins and tannins, while the leaves contain fruit acid, flavonoids and tannins.

Blackberry has an astringent, burning, anti-inflammatory effect.

Blackberry leaves and roots are a long-standing home remedy for anemia, heavy menstruation, diarrhea and dysentery.
Data from ancient times also speak of an anti-inflammatory effect. Dioscorides used a decoction of the leaves and roots for diarrhea and inflammation of the mucous membrane of the mouth, gingivitis, aphthae, etc. It is mentioned that the extract from steeping the leaves works better than boiling. A decoction of leaves and fruits is also used to treat white discharge in women.

As a mouthwash, it is used to treat bleeding gums and small mouth ulcers. Poultices or compresses are used externally on wounds and bruises.

Decoctions are used to relieve diarrhea and hemorrhoids. The tannins in the herb not only tighten the tissues, but also help control minor bleeding.
Applications of Blackberry Forest Leaf

Leaves and roots - for diarrhea, gastritis, heavy menstruation, white discharge, mild forms of diabetes mellitus, varicose veins. Externally, the leaves are used for inflammation of the mucous membrane of the mouth, bleeding gums, hemorrhoids.
How to use Blackberry leaf

1-2 tablespoons of leaves per 500 ml of boiling water. Steam for 10 minutes. Drink 150 ml 3 times a day.

The decoction can be used as a gargle for diseases of the oral mucosa.
