| Le Rayon vert Hetzel, Paris 1906, 18x27,3cm, relié. Nouvelle édition ornée ornée de 44 dessins par L. Benett et d'une carte. Ce n'est qu'en 1907 que les illustrations hors-texte apparaîtront pour ce titre. Catalogue BC in-fine. Cartonnage d'éditeur dit "Au steamer" au macaron doré. Dos très légèrement éclairci, ors à l'intérieur du macaron du premier plat un peu passés, deux coins inférieurs émoussés. Un cahier dérelié, un manque angulaire habilement comblé sur la page de titre et une restauration marginale du papier à la page 33. Le Rayon vert est un roman sentimental inspiré de la légende écossaise du phénomène éponyme : il permettrait à ceux qui l'ont observé de voir clair en leur cœur ainsi qu'en celui des autres. *** Publisher's board with "a Steamer" on a gilt badge. Spine very lightly faded, gold on the interior of the badge on the first board a little faded, two lower corners flattened. A loose section, a corner piece missing skillfully filled on the title page and a marginal restoration of the paper on page 33. Le Rayon vert (The Green Ray) is a sentimental novel inspired by the Scottish legend of the eponymous phenomenon: it allows those who have observed it to see clearly in their hearts as well as in those of others. |
