ANTIQUE CHAMBERSTICK

A 19th Century small but charming chamberstick. Silver plated on copper with detachable bobeche (wax drip tray) to the sconce, handle with thumbpiece and a snuffer. Decorated with foliate detail to the bobeche and pan.

Date: Circa 1840

Condition. Fair condition. The chamberstick is fully functional but has copper bleed (partial loss of silver plating to reveal copper base metal) all over including the pan, knop, sconce and handle. The bobeche and snuffer retain most of their plating. The handle has probably been re-attached (re-soldered). The bobeche is misshapen on one corner.
