Quarter red leather binding with cloth to the boards, simple gilt lines, raised bands to the spine with again simple gilt lines and gilt lettering. Binding in excellent condition, (bound by Sangorski and Sutcliffe binders stamp to the reverse of the 1st end paper)    marble paper to the paste downs and end papers. Armorial Bookplate to the 2nd end paper of Courtauld Thomson. Half title + frontispiece + title page + 115pp , illustrated . book in good to excellent condition 

 Courtauld Greenwood Courtauld-Thomson, 1st Baron Courtauld-Thomson CB, KBE (1865 1954) was a British businessman and holder of public and charitable offices. In 1914 he was appointed Commissioner for the Red Cross and Order of St John. In 1916 he was appointed a CB and in 1918 a KBE. His country seat was at Dorneywood, Buckinghamshire. In the Second World War he turned it into a hostel for officers in the allied air forces. In 1944 he was raised to the peerage 'for philanthropic and public services'
