Waterman by Cavaliere Brothers 1940/50 gold overlay Lever FP exc++++ Trattasi di una rara penna stilografica Waterman databile fine degli anni '40 inizio anni '50 con caricamento a leva laterale, con alcune caratteristiche che la rendono interessante per il collezionista.
Per prima cosa il disegno del decoro, che è molto semplice ma di evidente tipologia "tardo decò", con fusto e cappuccio lavorati righe verticali e orizzontali e spazi, laminatura in oro giallo.
La penna è a leva di carica laterale, molto bella di forma e molto ben tenuta, con la laminatura ancora sana e senza perdite di colore.
Molto interessanti i marchi: la laminatura è stata eseguita dai Fratelli Cavaliere, e ben visibili sono i seguenti due punzoni:
"Waterman's Ideal Lam. oro."
un cerchio con "marca di controllo" in alto ed in basso e "L.E. W CO." al centro (acronimo di Louis Edson Waterman Company"
Il pennino è in oro 14k e la lunghezza è di 130mm.
La penna è garantita originale ed in ottimo stato, non è stata comunque testata e potrebbe probabilmente aver bisogno di un controllo e/o un intervento di manutenzione.
This is a rare Waterman fountain pen datable to the late 1930s/beginning 1940s, with side lever filling system, with some features that make it interesting for the collector.
Firstly, the design of the decoration, which is very simple but of an obvious 'late deco' type, with vertical and horizontal stripes and spaces on the barrel and cap, laminated in yellow gold.
The pen is lever filler, very beautiful in shape and very well maintained, with the lamination still sound and without loss of colour.
The hallmarks are very interesting: the lamination was executed by the Cavaliere Brothers, and clearly visible are the following two punches:
1) "Waterman's Ideal Lam. gold."
2) a circle with 'Marca di controllo' (Control mark) at top and bottom and "L.E. W CO." in the centre (acronym for Louis Edson Waterman Company"
The nib is made of 14k gold and the length is about 130mm.
The pen is guaranteed to be original and in excellent condition, however, it has not been tested and could probably need checking and/or servicing..
