A major general in the United States Army, served on General Douglas MacArthur's staff in the Southwest Pacific Area from Australia to Japan in World War II and taught Logistics at the Air Command and Staff School after the war, and conservative columnist, lecturer, and author, the bulk of the collection reflects Lane's interests in American foreign and military policy, the Vietnam War, religious political issues, communism, and activities of Americans for Constitutional Action (ACA) and other conservative and anti-communist organizations from 1947 to 1976. The collection is primarily Composed of speeches, writings, notebooks/notes, correspondence, conference folders full of event items, press releases, and news clippings, with some handwritten documents.

It contains all of my newspaper columns published in the 1962-63 period a few articles published in 1961-63, a few special articles published in the 1961-63 years. This was the critical period of the genesis of the war in Vietnam.
When certain powers are striving to brainwash our people into acceptance of defeat in Vietnam, it should be timely to examine the peace psychosis which invited the war by giving unconcionable advantages to the enemy. It should be helpful to review the errors of policy which sacrificed our national interests in the alternatives of traditional, resolute action which were spurned by the peacemakers..... ...
