This piece shows the image of a Medieval Lion
THIS IS NOT A PANEL but a handmade kiln fired piece intended to be incorporated into a stained glass panel or framed.
A lovely unusual piece all permanently kiln fired onto a clear textured glass. The image would have been achieved by hand with enamels on to the glass then kiln fired for permanence to around 670 ° in a kiln.
The reverse is traditionally base painted and permanently kiln fired to makecimage stand out, see photo 4. Only intended to be viewed from the front.
Old stock from a stained glass studio, so glass may show slight signs of age or wear particularly to the edges which would normally be covered by the lead if used in a panel. or frame. Ready to be incorporated into a new stained glass panel.
