With detailed engineering drawings in colour this book provides the how-to of building a garden scale, live steam locomotive from scratch. The particular locomotive is a 16mm scale (1:19), narrow-gauge model of a British Fowler 0-4-0T. The engine is gas fired with working Walschaerts valve gear. The second part of the book deals with variations on the engine and the third part deals with construction of both freight and passenger cars in word and metal and a section on how to make simple castings for parts.
