Condition:                Rich tonal image, sharp and clean, penned photographer’s signature on mount, penciled notation on         verso.

 

Other:                      Exquisite pictorialist portrait of a woman presumably from Indianapolis with the name “A.B. Hall” penciled on the back.  This could refer to the Indianapolis druggist Albert B. Hall which could make this his wife Josephine…totally speculative.

 

                                 Charles C. Pike was active in Indianapolis, Indiana in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.  He contributed to a handful of photographic publications of the era and was known for his rendering style of portraiture.
