VINTAGE MEXICAN LARGE SIZE 14" X 7.5" MONOCHROMATIC HAND-CARVED WOOD WALL SCULPTURE with INSERTED BLUE GLASS EYES, representing WINGED HEAD of a BLUE EYED ANGEL/CHERUB.
INTENDED AS WALL DECOR. HOLE FOR HANGING IS PROVIDED. 14" ACROSS; 7.5" tall.
CARVED FROM ONE SOLID PIECE OF WOOD.
This beautiful wall sculpture appears in good vintage condition. Surface imperfections are minimal; might appreciate some very light cleaning.
While wood-carved angels and cherubs used to be a part of home décor in the Mexican villages for centuries, there are no two angels that would be alike. Nowadays, they are not that easily found because mostly they remain in the families as a family heirloom, thought to bring good luck to the household. Each wood-carved angel is either slightly or completely different from the others (depending on the master where each one expresses his unique style), and represents a beautiful work of art! Angels with inserted glass eyes are particularly rare and considered most valuable!
