USS Iowa The lead vessel in her WW II Iowa Class of battleships, she served in WW II, Korea and in President Reagan's 600 ship fleet, (1984-1990). She spent ten years in reserve in the Suisun Reserve Fleet in Benicia, CA. A veterans group, Pacific Battleship Center, obtained use of the USS Iowa in 2012 as a museum ship in the San Pedro/Long Beach Harbor area. Cover franked with 29 cent 50th Anniversary of WW II stamp (Leyte Gulf) and a 63 cent flag stamp # 5788 (FDOI).
