For your consideration is a vintage Waterman poker chip.

These chips were advertised in the early 1900s as a giveaway when purchasing a 12 1/2 secretary pen.

The slogan “knock wood” was stated on the chip. Conveniently there was a bit of wood laminated in the center so you’d have somewhere to “knock”.

This chip iscthe white one. They were also offered in Red, Blue and Black.

Black being the highest poker value.

I believe these were made of gutta percha. They are a bit brittle and this example, though quite nice, does have some nicks on the outside edge.
