This is the first work in the series to incorporate elements of so-called "school stories," including a "combat part" where battles take place using an active turn system, and events such as moving freely around the school and deepening interactions with friends. The system consists of a "school part" that handles the tasks. There is no direct connection between the game's setting and the previous two games, but some characters appear as guests.
