The thing that sets our Primitive boards apart is the FINISH.  It's not a "dull wood" finish.  We have a special bees wax aging finish that we apply to all of our bowls.  It takes an already distressed bowl and makes it look OLD and WARM and very primitive.

And it STAYS that way for the life of the board.  It is smooth to the touch and it is beautiful.

They carve these little Paddle boards in Mexico out of whatever wood they have available at the time.  NO two are ever exactly alike and while none of them are "perfect" they're all very primitive and these small ones make wonderful wall hangs and accent pieces.

I clean each one up as best as possible and then I wax and buff them.

THEN I drill a hole in the handle and tie a loop of leather so that it is now perfect as a primitive kitchen (or elsewhere) wall hang!

This would NOT be suitable for displaying raw foods (like cheese, bread, etc) unless you lined it first, because the moisture in foods would eventually wear away the wax finish. They're also not suitable for use as cutting boards because (again) they've not been prepped (they haven't been cleaned to THAT extent) or planed (they wouldn't lay perfectly flat) for that kind of use.  That's why we sell them as primitive decor wall hangs.

This one measures 15 1/2 inches long, 8 7/8 inches wide and it is 1/2 inch thick.  It weighs just shy of a Pound!

The board you SEE is the EXACT one you will RECEIVE.
