Very interesting item found at a California estate sale.  This comes from the estate of a career military vet/photographer.  He worked for a time at Vanderberg AFB, so I believe this is film from a rocket launch that took place there and since the film is wide (70mm) I believe probably official original footage of the launch.   I'm not sure of the date, but most of his home movies and other photos date from the 1940s to 1960s.  The quality looks beautiful and sharp.   If you have any knowledge of what type of rocket this is or the date, please let me know as I will add to the description.

The film measures 2.75" wide.   It was taped closed and when I opened the tape, I discovered this awesome sight...

UPDATE:  Thanks to Natgo for the following info:  it looks like the film stock is 10-perf 70mm with proprietary sprocket spacing. I think it’s worth mentioning you’ll need a custom scanner to digitize this, as a regular 70mm scanner won’t work.
