"A Simple Guide to Thimble Identification" Reference Book

by William & Magdalena Isbister

This book by William and Magdalena Isbister is one of the best I've seen on identifying what your thimble is and where it came from. They start with what the thimble is made of and each chapter then shows a wide range of possible thimble styles and nationalities. Thimbles of silver, gold, aluminum, copper alloy, iron, steel, pewter, nickel silver, stone, porcelain, glass, ivory, wood, plastic and more are all covered. The most emphasis is given to the gold and silver thimbles and this is a great resource for the hallmarks of all the major thimble producing countries.

There are hundreds of pictures and loads of practical and useful information. This book is soft cover, 109 pages and measures 8" by 10". It was published in 2015. This is a brand new copy and the ISBN # is 978-1-36-444518-8.
