VOIGTLANDER Vitessa T Camera with Color-Skopar 1:2.8 50mm Lens

Vitessa T, a high-quality rangefinder camera with many unique and unusual design features. Made by Voigtlander in Germany between 1956 and 1959. Based on the design of the highly successful barn-door Vitessa, but equipped with interchangeable lenses in a rigid lens mount. 

Unique patented rapid film advance via a vertical plunger that is pushed down with the left hand while the shutter release is operated with the right hand. Automatic frame counting with unusual display on the front of the camera. 

Color-Skopar 1:2.8 50mm lens in flash-synchronized Synchro-Compur leaf shutter (B, 1 - 1/500 sec). Mechanical display of the depth-of-field range via two moving red pointers. Switch to select X or M synchronization. Built-in self timer. Shutter speed and diaphragm are coupled to keep the light value setting constant. Convenient display of the values on top of the lens. Coupled rangefinder. Finder has built-in parallax compensation. 

The outfit consists of the following components: 

  • camera body, serial number 11 25727
  • white diffuser for exposure meter
  • Color Skopar 1:2.8/50 standard lens, serial number 4 209 488 (made in 1956)
  • brown leather case, rear part only
  • screw-mounted rubber lens shade on an Ednalite 601 adapter ring
  • a CD containing a scanned high resolution copy the Vitessa T (and other Voigtlander cameras) instruction manual in .pdf format. Also included are Voigtlander catalogues covering the Vitessa and other cameras.

The camera is in good condition and is fully functional. Shutter works at all speeds, self timer and flash contact function. The coincidence rangefinder produces a clearly visible double image with good vertical and horizontal (at infinity) alignment. Exposure meter is functional. Chrome and leather covering generally in good shape (there is a ding on the rear left top). 

The lens is clear, there is no fungus, no cloudiness, nor scratches. Diaphragm and depth-of-field pointers are working smoothly.
