Wonderful example of the early hammered pewter work of Serge Nekrassoff. Born in 1895 in Russia, Serge Nekrassoff began his metalsmithing work in Paris, France in the 1920's.  After moving to the US in 1925, his first studio was located in New York City on 114th Street. With the start of WWII, his pieces became more rare as pewter was collected for the war efforts. The pewter pieces, such as this, are the early pieces of art he crafted before moving into copper after the war created the shortage of pewter. Serge Nekrassoff died in 1985.

This beautiful candlestick holder is signed " S. Nekrassoff" on it's base. Lovely swirled tulip handles. Measures approximately 6 inches across the base which is as beautiful as the candle holder top. Just a lovely signed piece of 1930's pre Depression pewter worthy of an offer.
