I've never been one for stagnation. I aspire to grow and experience finding light in even the darkest circumstances. Dance was a salvation for me, relieving my spirits from the wicked constructs at home. I started my world in improvisation so it's no wonder this is where I feel strongest. What started with a sheer window curtain, a set of orchestrated records, and a willful imagination at the age of nine, progressed into professional performances at the age of nineteen. For the next eight years I traveled, entertaining audiences from Atlanta to Florida, New Orleans and Idaho. During those years I ran two entertainment businesses, developing a new understanding about the business as a whole. By 1998, my world stopped. Sickness had ravaged my body and I was left with the heartache of a disability that left me handicapped. Health, wellness, and the creative arts had been my life. So, I took what I knew and proved my doctors wrong. With nothing but faith and determination to go on, I healed a deemed incurable situation. I knew I wasn't the only one suffering this madness. After a full recovery, I compiled a study of all that I utilized for physical, emotional, and spiritual health. I began teaching this discovery and called it The Technique. I gained my certifications as a Personal Trainer and as a Pilates Istructor. The following year I received my certifications in Advanced Yoga and Specialty Exercise for Chronic Pain. I was also awarded my certification as a Reiki Master. Using this, I established a program that I used in fitness clubs and dance studios and the method continues to grow with great success. In 2002, I innovated some of my professed loves. Contemporary Belly Dance, Native American Spirit (Animal) Yoga, and Baby-n-Me Belly Dance were created. I taught workshops and performed throughout the US. By 2012 it was time to sit down once again with pen in hand and write what must be written. The Technique was birthed to paper and in that same year I also poured out my autobiography. The details for purchase can be viewed on my website: t-cameron.com. Believing that each day is precious, gives me the spirit to accomplish my dreams. Seize every moment to shine, to act out of compassion and to make our world more beautiful. Blessings to you.
