Kristina Cardoza is 11 years old and in the 6th grade. She's been reading since she was one years old and she wrote her first story when she was only 5 - it's called Pinky Bunny's First Day of Kindergarten. She's a straight A gifted student who enjoys reading and writing, learning new languages, graphic designing, and playing musical instruments like the piano and the clarinet - she plays by ear. Kristina is currently working on earning her 1st degree black belt in mixed martial arts. She's also a soccer player and a Girl Scout Cadette. Kristina's first story, Pinky Bunny's First Day of Kindergarten, gave her the confidence to continue to do what she enjoys -- expressing herself through writing. She wrote her first story to express how she felt on the first day of kindergarten: no friends, was shy, and wanted to stay home because she missed her old friends. Most of the other kids knew each other from preschool and daycare, but she was new because the Air Force had just moved her family to a new state. She was lonely at first, but soon enough, she made lots of friends. Pinky Bunny is a real stuffed animal that was given to Kristina by her grandmother, Grandy. Grandy passed away a week after Kristina's 6th birthday, so she decided to dedicate all her Pinky Bunny stories to her. Each Pinky Bunny book has a morale to go along with the story and it's also educational. Her newest Pinky Bunny book, Pinky Bunny's Crazy Halloween, is about not judging someone by the way they look, but instead look beyond their outer appearance and get to know the person inside.
