An extraordinary Victorian cast silver pepper formed as a Grotesque smiling clowns head. A very rare piece made Grey & Co , Birmingham 1896.

The Griining face has great detail and the skull cap bears the holes for the pepper and the frilled collar unscrews to facilitate refilling.
