A teenager named Nikolas finds him and tries to help but the man realizes the only way he can regain control of his life is to leave California and explore the world. He returns 5 years later, with a newly formed identity, and invites Nikolas to lunch where he offers him a job at a business he founded with the purpose of rebuilding memories for those who lost them. With Nikolas beyond confused at his business proposal in addition to attempting to understand his explanation of the memory loss, things just become stranger when another lost person confronts them.
