A fascinating 18th century bible box made from oak.

Offered in great condition, this box appears to received some sympathetic attention throughout the years.

The lock appears to have been removed, a oak insert has been added and carefully carved to match the original carving. The box has been has been stabilised with glue however the lid is bowing.

There are signs of treated historical woodworm with general age related wear and bumping to the corners. However please understand this box is 300 years old and in my personal opinion it has survived incredibly well.

Overall this is a superb opportunity to own a surviving piece of ecclesiastical English history.

Please kindly study the photos carefully and form your own opinion on condition.
