Author Biography

Dan Diner ist Professor emeritus fÃ"r Moderne Geschichte an der Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Von 1999 bis 2014 war er Direktor des Simon-Dubnow-Instituts fÃ"r jÃ"dische Geschichte und Kultur und Professor am Historischen Seminar der Universität Leipzig. Dr. Mitchell G. Ash ist ordentlicher Universitätsprofessor fÃ"r Geschichte der Neuzeit an der Universität Wien. Er leitet dort die Arbeitsgruppe Wissenschaftsgeschichte und ist Sprecher des multidisziplinären Doktoratskollegs "Naturwissenschaften im historischen, philosophischen und kulturellen Kontext". Dr. Michael Brenner ist Professor fÃ"r jÃ"dische Geschichte und Kultur an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität MÃ"nchen. Dan Diner ist Professor emeritus fÃ"r Moderne Geschichte an der Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Von 1999 bis 2014 war er Direktor des Simon-Dubnow-Instituts fÃ"r jÃ"dische Geschichte und Kultur und Professor am Historischen Seminar der Universität Leipzig. Dr. Katrin Steffen ist Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Deutschen Historischen Institut Warschau. A graduate of the Hebrew University and the University of Chicago, Yaakov Arielâs research focuses on messianic, hybrid, or radical movements in contemporary Judaism and Christianity, as well as on Christian-Jewish relations in the Modern Era. He has published numerous articles as well as a number of books on these topics. His book, Evangelizing the Chosen People, won the Outler Prize of the American Society of Church History. His latest book, An Unusual Relationship: Evangelical Christians and Jews, was published by New York University Press in 2013. Ariel teaches at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he is currently co-director of the Center for Jewish Studies, and director of the Minor in the Study of Christianity and Culture. Paul Mendes-Flohr is Professor of Jewish Thought, Hebrew University.
