Jensen Transformers has been unable to ship JT-123-DBX transformers for some time now, so we went in search for a worthy replacement. Imagine our delight when we discovered an alternative that was not only worthy, but arguably superior! We discovered that CineMag is the progenitor of Jensen Transformers. In fact, they are the original designers of the JT-123-DBX, and originally built them for Jensen Transformers as JE-123-DBX. Not only is this a worthy replacement, it is fair to say that it is an improved version of the original, since most would agree that interleaved high nickel and steel laminations sound better than straight 50% nickel alloy laminations.

CineMag CMOQ-3LPC line audio output transformers feature quad-filar winding for excellent bandwidth. They employ high-nickel interleaved 50/50 percent with steel laminations instead of simply using a single stack of 50% nickel alloy. The laminations are heat-treated after stamping in order to relieve stresses in the metal. In order to achieve the best results, steel (iron) and nickel require very different heat treatment techniques. CineMag’s proprietary annealing processes maximize acoustic performance!

Aside from their own obvious merits, the CMOQ-3LPC transformer is also worthy of consideration for several additional reasons. First, it is the original version of the Jensen Transformers JT-123-DBX (as originally manufactured by CineMag, for Jensen Transformers), for use in DBX noise reduction units. The two transformers are quite similar except that the current CMOQ-3LPC has high-nickel interleaved with steel laminations, which many would agree sounds better than the straight 50% nickel alloy laminations used for JT-123-DBX.

History

The company story goes goes back to Edward Reichenbach in the 1940's, where his experience included the design of many audio transformers for Altec Lansing. Following that, Ed formed his own company, making audio transformers, inductors, and power transformers for use in professional audio gear. He eventually formed Reichenbach Engineering, where the transformers he designed became ubiquitous standards in the pro audio industry. CineMag was formed as a part of Reichenbach Engineering in 1979, manage by Ed's son, Tom. The CineMag name reflects the company's early focus upon magnetic tapes heads for cinema; "Cinema Magnetics" was concatenated to "CineMag".

USPS Priority Mail

Warranty

Cable Solutions Warranty Statement

Should any CineMag product distributed by Cable Solutions fail due to defects in materials or workmanship within three years of the date of sale, we will repair or replace, at our discretion, the defective product at no cost to our customer. Additionally, as CineMag transformers are known to be high-quality, long-life products, we may also provide assistance beyond three years, subject to review by both Cable Solutions and CineMag, on a case by case basis.

This is a limited warranty and is not applicable to products which have, in our opinion, been damaged by (including, but not limited to) lightning, surge, water, fire, etc.), altered, abused, misused, or improperly installed. Cable Solutions makes no other warranties either expressed or implied, including limitation warranties as to merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Additionally, there are no allowances or credits available for service work or installation performed in the field by the end user.

Return Policy for Custom-built Products

Defective Merchandise

Defective merchandise will be repaired or replaced as described above.

Non-defective Merchandise

All non-defective returns are subject to restocking fees. The restocking fee varies, depending upon the degree of customization. Very common configurations are subject to a 10% restocking fee, while very unusual configurations could require restocking fees up to 60%. We realize that this is a large range, so please contact us if you have questions about a particular cable assembly.

A Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) is required for all returns. Please contact us for authorization and instructions.

Shipping/handling fees are not refundable and you will be responsible for all shipping/handling expenses related to the return. In the case of items with "free shipping", customary shipping/handling fees will be added to your restocking fees.

In order to qualify for the rates shown above, we must receive your return within the specified on eBay's Shipping, returns and payments tab. In cases where the item is returned incomplete, or in less than perfect condition, we will evaluate the restocking fees on a case by case basis.

USA Customers

International Customers

Please notice that most of our electronic equipment carries a USA warranty, so all international warranty issues must be handled by Cable Solutions.
