Up for sale is ANTIQUE JAPANESE MEIJI ERA c. 1930 SMALL SIGNED CERAMIC PLATE DISH GEISHA SCENIC

This is an antique Japanese mid Meiji Era (c. 1930) small ceramic dish. It is all hand thrown and hand painted with a scenic design featuring three geisha sitting along a river bank with a house and blossoming plum trees in the background. There is also a gold painted rim and a geometric patterns reminiscent of a parasol and kimono fabric at the top of the plate. The back of the plate has the artist's signature, Kutani written in paint. It was high fired for lasting durability.  

2 larger dishes measures 7 1/4" across by 7/8" high (18.5 x 2.2 cm) and rest 10 dishes measures (16.5 x 1.2cm ) all remains in excellent condition. An excellent large serving plate and also great for serving a variety of appetizers.  It is truly a work of stand alone art.
