Description
Item: Up for auction is an excellent antique Chinese Qiangjin and Tianqi polychrome and gilt lacquer lobed 'Dragon' box and cover. The cover decorated with a central full-face dragon surrounded by four dragons. The lobed sides of the box are decorated with rocks and clouds. The borders with bats in flight at the rim and band of key fret encircling the foot.
Similar box with slightly larger size sold at Christie's NY March 2013 & Sept. 2019.
Size: 16 1/4" diameter X 5 1/2" high.
Age: 18thc
Condition: Overall very good condition for the age. The center of the cover has no damages except normal wear on polychrome decoration. There are scattered small chips to the rims of box, cover and foot as shown in the photos.
