A True Scarcity...1858 Early, Antique Hand Tinted, Salt Print; Depiction of a young doctor, holding in his hand a degree in medicine. Ink manuscript text on diploma reads; "Act Gradum Medicince Morten 1858". (Mortiary Doctor?). Background includes the red swag curtain often seen in antebellum folk paintings, volumes of books in the rear, what might be a druggist pestle on the cupboard deck and various size cupboard drawers sometimes associated with an apothecary. Photo is applied to it's original, period mount board.
Exterior mount dimensions are approximately: 9-3/4" x 11-3/4".
Condition: soiling, staining, scuffs, surface chips and scrapes, edge wear, tears, and edge loss.
