Antique Photograph on Board; Depiction of Lt. Col. John Schuyler Crosby, General Philip Sheridan, and General James William Forsyth.  Photograph is by "Taylor's" of Washington, D. C.  Manuscript date of "1867" on top of mount board.  Period ink written identification is on the image.  "Lt. Colonel Jno. Jchuyler Crosby, Major General Philip H. Sheridan, Bvt. Brigadier James W. Forsyth".  There is also a period ink written inscription on the bottom of the mount board reading; "To Gen'l Sheridans old friend & physician Dr. Yarrow from Gen'l Sheridans old staff officer John Schuyler Crosby. J'ny 29th, 1879".  In the negative of the photo, manuscript identification names appear across the bottom of the photo...thus my best conclusion on the image is that it was taken in 1867 and then this enlarged copy shot was produced in 1879 as a presentation gift to Dr. Yarrow.
