Description

Muffuletta is a fuzz/distortion that allows you to enjoy many historical big muffs and the special big muff sound of JHS Pedals in one unit.

In 1967, Mike Matthews and Bob Meyer began experimenting with sustainer effect circuits for electric guitars. This is how the legend begins. The circuit was completed in early 1969, creating one of the most revered, collected, and legendary pedals in the history of guitar effects.
In the 50 years since then, over 30 variations of this pedal have been produced. That pedal, named the Big Muff, created many tones and became a pioneer in pioneering the era and sound.
Muffuletta is a tribute to a great and historically significant legendary effect. Let's experience the sounds and eras created by legendary circuits all at once.

Muffuletta offers a choice of 6 Big Muff tones, recreating 5 classic Big Muff circuits, plus an all-new original JHS version.
Needless to say, we don't use any digital signal processing or digital emulation; we use completely analog circuitry.
Selecting a model selects a circuit with the same values of components used in the real circuit of each era model. The five historical models included in Muffuletta are particularly popular and JHS Pedals favorites selected from history.
With one compact, easy-to-use pedal, you can revive the classic Big Muff sound. With Muffuletta, you don't have to worry about using rare, expensive, huge pedals that have lost screws, pots that are in the wrong direction, or that you have to be careful not to break or scratch.

Muffuletta has four knobs: Volume, Tone, Sustain and Mode. Volume, like many effectors, is the volume adjustment. The Tone control allows you to make the tone brighter or darker. The Sustain control is similar to the Gain and Drive controls, and allows you to control the strength of distortion. The Mode control is a 6-position rotary switch that allows you to select from 6 big muff sounds.

●JHS: JHS muff sound made in 2015. This mode is JHS's interpretation of the classic big muff circuit, and is the most powerful, with the least amount of compression, and a tone with an impressive midrange. This mode is also ideal for bass guitar.

●73 Rams Head: Reproduces the big muff from the second period, called Rams Head, produced around 1973 to 1977. The logo on the bottom right of the original pedal looked like a sheep's head, hence the name Ram's Head. The circuit is called V2. It is characterized by a reduced midrange, low gain, and dark tone, making it a favorite pedal for many artists.

●The Triangle: Reproduces the earliest big muff that was produced only for a short period of time from around 1969 to 1970. The models from this period had three knobs arranged in a triangular shape, so they came to be called triangles. The circuit is called V1. It features a high low-end response and a clear tone.

●The Pi: This is the version known for its most famous π logo and two-tone black/red housing. This is the design that was also used in the reissue version that was reprinted in 2000. The original is a model from the period called the 3rd period, but this mode in particular creates the tone of the early model of the 3rd period, which was made around 1977 to 1978. The circuit is in V3 period. (The 3rd generation model has an IC period after this, and will change to the later model.) It is known for its aggressive and thick tone.

●The Russian: This is a reproduction of the big muff produced in Russia from 1999 to 2009 with the words "Made in Russia" written on it. The external appearance is a black casing, which is low for a Russian product, and the circuit is from the V8 period. It is known for its reduced low end and clarity, and distortion-like tone that goes well with bass.

-The Civil War: Reproduces the earliest Russian big muff produced around 1991 to 1993. The circuit is V7. The exterior has a unique design based on gray, and is a model from the period when it is printed in green. It came to be called "Civil War" because the combination of navy and gray evoked the image of the American Civil War, as later models had navy prints on gray casings. Models from this period have a strong midrange, low gain, and bright tones.

Every model of the Big Muff has been loved by guitarists and top artists around the world. There is probably no other pedal that has so many variations and is so loved.
Muffuletta brings together a variety of variations from each era into one pedal. Many guitarists will find a favorite mode. There is no doubt that this will be a pedal that you will want to play forever.
