The revolutionary Ford Mustang caused a sensation when it went on sale April 17, 1964, as a 1965 model. All three body styles: coupe, convertible, and fastback wowed onlookers, but the sporty coupes were the top sellers. Almost sixty years later, first-generation Mustang coupes are still universally admired and sought by collectors.
Maxmotive is proud to present this new addition to the Pittsburgh showroom. This iconic 1965 Ford Mustang Coupe comes with Ford’s legendary 289 cubic inch small-block V-8. and this example is backed by the 3-speed C4 automatic transmission. The first-generation Mustang featured an independent front suspension with upper A-arms, coil springs, lower strut-stabilized control arms and tubular shocks. The solid rear axle featured leaf springs and tubular shocks.
The beautiful coupe, finished in Rangoon red paint, shows very well and complements the deluxe black interior. During its full restoration, Vintage Air conditioning and dual exhaust were also added. This vehicle is believed to have only 6,728 miles since restoration and has been professionally maintained since that point. See detailed photos at
