McCalls Magazine 100th Anniversary Issue 1976 Ephemera Collectible Ads

This 1976 magazine is in good condition, with some tears and wear on corners and edges.

McCall's Magazine dates back to 1873 when Scottish tailor James McCall created a publication to help sell his dressmaking patterns. It would later become one of the country's most popular women's magazines.

During its first 40 years, the magazine evolved from a pattern book to an obscure magazine. It was purchased in 1913 by White, Weld & Co., later becoming the McCall Corporation. 1921 following the success of women's suffrage, the magazine evolved once again to publish quality journalism for a new generation of women.

By 2001 the magazine was renamed Rosie for then-popular talk show host Rosie O'Donnell. The magazine ceased publication in 2002. We think this particular issue is special for its celebration of the magazine's first 100 years.
