Lot of 10 Tea Leaf Butter Pats
Description:
Presented for your consideration is this lot of 10 early antique ironstone butter pats. The pats are all white and bare the tea leaf pattern done in copper lustre in the center. A copper lustre border is around the outer edge of each pat as well. All are finished with a smooth glaze. Manufacturer markings are on the bottom of each, except for one which is unmarked. 3 are made by Anthony Shaw & Son and the rest are made by Alfred Meakin. All were made in England. Guaranteed to be old. Dates to about the 1870s. Would make a great addition to any tea leaf or ironstone collection!
Some mild glaze crazing is on each. Some staining is on one pat. Five of the pats have small chips in the edges (one 2 are visible from the top). Some light wear is on each from age and use. Overall the lot is in GOOD-VERY GOOD condition. Sold as found. Please refer to the photos for the absolute best details.
Shaw pats measure 2 3/4" square.
Meakin pats measure 2 1/2" square.
