If you want the optical output to support the effect of 5.1 channel output, you must have the following conditions:

1. The audio source must be DTS 5.1 channel, such as 3D games, HD movies. If it is a normal MP3 or 2-channel film, it can only have 2-channel effect. 2.

2. Player settings are very important: If you are using PowerDVD software, set the output from optical "Passthrough". This means that the sound card is only responsible for outputting the optical signal, not decoding it.

We recommend using the KMP player, which is very powerful.

3. The optical output must be connected to an AC3/DTS decoder, or an amplifier with a built-in AC3/DTS decoder.
