These stones are used for sharpening and maintaining woodworking, carving, and various other tools.  They are also used by metal workers, gunsmiths, etc.

This is a natural Arkansas sharpening stone which is found only around Hot Springs, Arkansas. The stone is novaculite and is the finest natural abrasive stone available. It has superior sharpening characteristics that will actually polish the edge as it sharpens.
These slip stones are high quality 2nds with only minor issues.  
The stones are natural and may have slight imperfections, chips or variations in their colors and patterns.
